Online Fax services advantage

Posted by zahirblog on March 21, 2009

faxbook1When was the last time you sent a fax?  Well, if you work in a solicitor’s office, the banking sector or the NHS, probably yesterday!  For the rest of us: well I can’t honestly remember the last time I sent a fax transmission. Email is now the default medium, apart from professions that insist on paper documents still.

Lawyers and solicitors will, at a pinch, accept a fax document as an original provided it’s plain paper (not thermal and therefore not capable of fading over a period of time) and has been validated by another solicitor or lawyer usually. There are document management packages available, but some professions still insist on a clear paper-based audit trail. Even if only for procedural reasons, there are many areas of business that will insist on using fax.

That being the case, there are services business users can take advantage of to fully integrate fax with their existing IT infrastructure.  These services will facilitate the easy use of both communications technologies and avoid additional costs through purchase of dedicated fax equipment and enhance operation and security.

A Fax to Email service allows you to receive faxes directly to your email address as attachments.  It’s an easy and confidential way of receiving, storing and forwarding important fax documents. Because incoming faxes don’t remain in the fax machine’s in-tray, they are inherently more confidential and secure. Using Fax to Email, fax messages will always get through and you will be instantly informed about incoming messages.  Filing of faxes and record keeping for audit purposes also becomes much simpler.

If you factor in the price and speed benefits of using an online fax services, you’ll that the cost is just a fraction compared when using a traditional fax machine using ink and paper. Also you won’t need to scan them in for storage and because the files are stored in a convenient TIFF or PDF format which can be printed out easily.

7 reasons why people cheat

Posted by zahirblog on March 21, 2009

david-beckham-stare1. Bored
I’d say this is the most common reason that people cheat. Things start off grand and then level off and then you both realize that it’s still real life. When you meet someone else, that inaugural excitement of a new relationship kicks back in.

2. Dependence
At first glance, cheating seems like an independent behavior. It could be interpreted as doing what you want, when you want. But I would argue that cheating is a dependent behavior. A cheater is dependent because they are not strong enough to break up with their significant other in order to get with the new person.

3. Because They Let You
If any one cheated on you, break up with that person immediately. That person who cheated may lose respect for you and might continue to cheat-because they know they can get away with it, because you’ll continue to take them back.

4. Nurturing
If someone is mistreating you, then your first instinct is to get away from him or her. But sometimes it’s not that simple-maybe you are raising kids together. If you feel trapped in a bad relationship, it’s only natural that you will run to the open arms of a person who treats you well.

5. Revenge
This is quite simple- an eye for an eye. Cheat on them if they cheat on you. If they continuously hurt you or abuse you in some way, you do it to get them back.

6. Confirmation of Attractiveness
Sometimes when you’re in a long relationship, or if your significant other is taking you for granted, you brgin to wonder if you are still attractive. Perhaps, because you were out on the dating circuit, you felt more attractive when you were single. If you have an affair, you’ve proven that a new person can be attracted to you.

7. They Don’t Consider It Cheating, Even Though You Might
Relationships have that grey area, usually right before you become exclusive. He thinks date #4 is when you’re “together,” and you think date #2 is when you’re “together.” If you haven’t talked about exclusivity, someone may think they are well within their rights to see other people, even though the other person in the relationship may not.

Real men drive like this

Posted by zahirblog on February 13, 2009

Thats one hell of car control! Ken Block driving the 2006 Subaru WRX STi around an abandoned air field.

Ken Block has only been driving rally cars for a short amount of time, but his list of accomplishments read like that of a seasoned pro. A long-standing passion for rally driving first led Block to link up with Vermont SportsCar late in 2004 where he began an intensive rally training program that included multiple test and schooling sessions. In 2005, Block’s first year of rallying, he was aptly named Rally America’s Rookie of the Year. As his career continued, Block’s speed and skill behind the wheel became apparent and he signed on with Subaru Rally Team USA in 2006. From there he went on to take Bronze at X Games 12 in Los Angeles, and 2nd overall in the Rally America National Championship in 2006. In 2007 he had another strong year, winning the Silver Medal at the X Games 13 Rally and finishing 3rd Overall in the Rally America National Championship.

Will VoIP spells doom for calling card companies?

Posted by zahirblog on January 28, 2009

cb_phone_call_070924_ms

I’ve been using a calling card ever since I realized I was paying too much for my long distance calls using my local phone provider. I literally tried all types calling card in the market and some are useless and some are great. Today, with unlimited plans on mobile phones, broadband VoIP and web based applications such as Skype, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Live Messenger and Google talk, calling cards seems so thing of the past.

Who needs calling cards, (including both post-paid and pre-paid calling cards) when you have so many competitive options that offer inexpensive or even free calling, right? I mean really, who wants to dial an  11-digit access number then remember their calling card account number or PIN then enter the destination number as well?

Well apparently, even with so many phone options these days, each vying for the same “limited” phone minute pie, there is still a huge market for calling cards. Go figure.

There are several calling card companies that have now extended into the VoIP realm since obviously terminating via VoIP has much better margins than over the PSTN. One such company offering calling calling card services is Onesuite.com. Originally a calling card company, they added VoIP in their services offered  hoping to capture a piece of the VoIP market. By combining calling card service and voip technology, customers got better options on how to access the service. Onesuite subscribers now aren’t limited to using landline to use the service, they have option to make calls even if there’s no landline phone around. Travelers often found themselves either helpless because they can not find a landline or charged ridicoulously for using their mobile phones to call back their home country. Now with VoIP access, you just need an internet connection and you are seconds away from calling your love ones.

Get paid for vacationing on an Australian island for 6 months

Posted by zahirblog on January 13, 2009

island2SYDNEY (AFP) – An Australian state is offering internationally what it calls “the best job in the world” — earning a top salary for lazing around a beautiful tropical island for six months.

The job pays 150,000 Australian dollars (105,000 US dollars) and includes free airfares from the winner’s home country to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland’s state government announced on Tuesday.

In return, the “island caretaker” will be expected to stroll the white sands, snorkel the reef, take care of “a few minor tasks” — and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates.

The successful applicant, who will stay rent-free in a three-bedroom beach home complete with plunge pool and golf buggy, must be a good swimmer, excellent communicator and be able to speak and write English.

“They’ll also have to talk to media from time to time about what they’re doing so they can’t be too shy and they’ll have to love the sea, the sun, the outdoors,” said acting state Premier Paul Lucas.

“The fact that they will be paid to explore the islands of the Great Barrier Reef, swim, snorkel and generally live the Queensland lifestyle makes this undoubtedly the best job in the world.”

Lucas said the campaign was part of a drive to protect the state’s 18 billion Australian dollar a year tourism industry during the tough economic climate caused by the global financial meltdown.

“Traditional tourism advertising just doesn’t cut it sometimes and we are thinking outside the box by launching this campaign.”

Queensland Tourism Minister Desley Boyle said some people might question whether it was risky to let an unknown person become an unofficial tourism spokesperson for the state.

“I think the biggest risk will be that the successful candidate won’t want to go home at the end of the six months,” she said.

“This is a legitimate job which is open to anyone and everyone.”

Applications are open until February 22. Eleven shortlisted candidates will be flown to Hamilton Island in early May for the final selection process and the six month contract will commence on July 1.

Job-seekers can apply on .

Kenneth Darby, running back for the St. Louis Rams, was tackled by referee Garth DeFelice during Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. On picture, it looks like NFL referee DeFelice took matters into his own hand but on video clip, you can see his only protecting himself from Darby who didn’t see him on his way after catching the ball.

Here’s the clip of the play.

Fax to Email anyone?

Posted by zahirblog on November 29, 2008

foip_pc_to_fax1Onesuite just goes FoIP also known as Fax over IP. In this age of Internet Protocol, its wise to maximize the technology behind the internet. Sooner or later we can taste food or smell fragrances over IP. Actually AromaJet already developed ways to smell perfume over the internet back in 2000.

Back to our topic, sending fax over the internet has been online for some time now. With the advancement of internet technology (faster and better connection) Fax over IP has been getting pretty reliable these days with less failures and better connection makes it a wise choice for sending and receiving your faxes.

OneSuite.com has added a business-class Internet fax service to its offerings. OneSuite Fax is FoIP and is being offered in addition to prepaid long-distance service, VoIP and web fax all in a single account. It’s offered with two levels of service – basic for $1 per month and plus for $2.95 per month.

Onesuite Fax Plus has a pay as you go pricing similar to their other products (SuiteAdvantage, Prepaid phone card) so no need to worry about unused minutes or in this cae unused faxes. So if you happen to send less fax this month then you spend less also. Receiving is unlimited so you can give away your fax number not worrying about receiving unsolicited fax or fax thats not important using up your credits.  Other FoIP providers bind customers to a monthly plan with a set number of send/receive pages, and charge extra high rates for pages sent or receive outside its alloted pages.

Fax to email not only saves us money but also save the world with less paper and ink going around and eventually to waste so let us do our share for keeping the earth green.
